How to play online craps: A summary

Craps is played using two dice and chips to place bets. Comprising of rounds, a game kicks off when the player (shooter), makes either a Pass Bet or a Don’t Pass bet. After placing a bet on either, the player must then roll the dice. The round ends when:

  • The result is a total dice value of 7 or 11 (known as a natural)
  • The result is a total dice value of 2, 3 or 12 (known as craps)

If the total dice value is a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10, then a Point is made and the shooter would have to roll again. The round will then end when:

  • If the shooter rolls any other number, it becomes the point number
  • A 7 must be rolled before the point number to win
  • If the point number is rolled prior to a 7, you lose

Come Bet

  • A Come Bet came be placed while a round is ongoing
  • The next roll is called the Come Out roll, where you win or lose based on whether the point number has been established
  • If the shooter throws a 7 or an 11, the Come Bet wins
  • If the shooter rolls a 2, 3 or 12, you lose
  • If any number is rolled out, then the point number has been set. If the shooter rolls a point number prior to a 7, then you win

Don’t Come Bet

  • If the shooter throws a 2 or three, then you win
  • If the shooter throws a 7 or 11, then you lose
  • If the shooter throws a 12, the bet is tied.
  • If any other number is rolled out, the point number is set
  • If a 7 is rolled prior to the point number, you win

Place Bets

  • A Place Bet is when a player bets that a number of their choice will be rolled before a 7
  • You can choose that either 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 will be rolled out

Field

  • This is a one-time based on the next roll being a 2,3, 4, 9, 10, 11 or 12
  • All wins pay 1 to 1 with the exception of 2 and 12 which pay more
