Although the bonus features remain the same, Book of Destiny is a far departure from the original Book of Ra slot from Novomatic, or any other current ‘Book of’ slots, for that matter. What’s interesting about this game is that it has a couple of additional features before you get into the free spins bonus round. You still get the same expanding symbols, but here you can choose your own if you’re prepared to push your luck and gamble. Also worth mentioning are the two versions of ‘Buy bonus’ features. For 0.5x your stake, the Scatter Boost function adds more scatter symbols on the reels. The Bonus buy function lets you access the bonus round without even trying at the cost of 75x your stake. These extras, however, may not be available to UK players.
Wilds and Scatters
As with most ‘Book of’ slot releases, the cryptic book symbol acts as both a scatter and a wild. As a scatter, it triggers the free spins bonus round, and as a wild, it substitutes for all paying symbols except itself.
When triggered with 3 book scatters, the bonus round awards 10 free spins, but not before you choose your destiny. In plain English, choosing your destiny involves you picking your own expanding symbol and then gambling for more. After you’ve picked your very first expanding symbol, you’ll have a choice to either proceed to the free spins round or spin the fortune’s wheel. Choose the wheel, and you’ll have two chances to pick an additional 2 expanding symbols if you land on the white portion of the wheel on both spins. Landing on the black section ends the round and takes you back to the base game. Landing 3 scatters during the free spins round awards another 10 free spins with an additional expanding symbol randomly selected for you. With up to 3 expanding symbols of your own and additional symbols chosen for you, you could end up with up to 9 special symbols expanding and paying anywhere on a win line during free spins.
A lot has been toyed with in Book of Destiny except the jackpot feature. However, that didn’t stop the developer from fixing the game up with a very welcome max potential of 10,832x your stake.
Most of the ‘Book of’ titles are risky, and so is this release, making Book of Destiny a highly volatile slot as usual. But it’s good to see the RTP here has received a nice boost and is now set to 96.50%. Players using the buy bonus feature can expect an even higher return to player rate.
No doubt the game will be accessible at numerous online casinos hosting Relax Gaming content in the future. But for now, Book of Destiny is available exclusively at Leo Vegas.
Book of Destiny might be set in Ancient Egypt, but it still runs on modern software, enabling you to play it on any mobile device from any far-flung destinations. As long as you have a solid internet connection, you can play it on both your mobile phone or tablet.
