Xterminate Slot Bonus Features

The revolution begins on six reels and five rows with a mix of low and high-paying symbols dropping down and potentially forming wins through a cluster pays system. You need a minimum of eight identical symbols landing next to each other (connected vertically, horizontally or diagonally) to create a winning cluster.

This in turn triggers the Avalanche feature, which removes all winning symbols from the reels and has new symbols cascade from above to fill up the empty positions. If new wins are formed, then the avalanche mechanic is repeated. This feature ends once you have no more new wins.

Xterminate Multiplier Feature

Whenever you score a winning cluster, that win’s value (in multiplier format) is accumulated by the Xterminate multiplier which is displayed atop the grid. Each win is first multiplied by the existing Xterminate multiplier before it is added to the Xterminate multiplier.

Wilds

Known as charged wilds, these symbols step in for all other symbols in the game, except the bomb. My Verdict on Xterminate

I went into Xterminate with pretty high hopes. Thunderkick has delivered some excellent games in the past and this felt like the sort of release that could stand head-to-head with the best of them. But ultimately, Xterminate ended up feeling more like a half-baked concept rather than a fully-fledged, polished game.

Let’s start with the visuals. Sure, the graphics look as great as anything else the provider has put out there. There’s a very lively colour palette going on, with high-quality designs that bring the anarchic cyberpunk theme to life. But it does all somehow feel generic, with a lack of specificity that makes it all feel a bit rushed or underdeveloped.

The same can be said of the feature list. While I love the idea of having all the special features working within the base game spins, it just feels like the game could have had more layered elements added in there. The bomb and charged wild sure add more depth to the feature set, but I think the slot could have used a couple of additional boosts. The best thing about the game is ultimately the excellent connection between the avalanche feature and the Xterminate multiplier. It can lead to the slot’s biggest wins and although it takes a while to get it going sometimes, once it gets rolling, it can be incredibly satisfying.

Math model is unfortunately another issue here. Volatility has been cranked up to the highest setting and it’s not adequately supported by the RTP ranges. The highest RTP is 94.12%, which isn’t anywhere near the level it should be for a slot like this. It makes it frustratingly difficult to get wins and special feature triggers, which can make the game extremely off-putting to casuals and beginners.

Ultimately, Xterminate feels like a misfire for Thunderkick, and while I appreciate the efforts made here for innovation, they don’t deliver on their promise.
