Different types of online bingo games

30 Ball Bingo

Although this type of game is not that common on many online bingo sites, there is still a good selection which is gaining increasing popularity. The fact that the game is played out quite quickly makes it a favourite amongst many bingo players.

The game cards of 30 Ball Bingo contain nine numbers, filling each square in a 3 x 3 square grid. There is also one prize up for grabs for this game and which is awarded to the first player to mark off all the numbers on their bingo card.

75 Ball Bingo

75 Ball Bingo is especially popular in the United States with plenty of variations popping up all the time, especially on bingo sites targeting US players.

The bingo card games for 75 Ball Bingo contain 5 columns and 5 rows, with a total of 25 squares. The center square is kept blank and the remainder of the 24 squares each have a number. The letters for Bingo are printed at the top of the columns with each column containing numbers within a specific number range. For example, for the letter B there are numbers between 1 and 15, the I column has numbers between 16 and 35, etc. etc.

The rules for this game require that the first winner must successfully mark off any completed line, whether vertically, horizontally or diagonally. Different versions of this game offer a variety of patterns that need to be completed to win the game.

80 Ball Bingo

This version of the bingo game was created specifically to be played online and it has gained increasing popularity since its inception. You play this game using bingo cards containing a 4 x 4 setup, with one number for each square, totalling to 16 numbers.

Similarly, to the 75 ball bingo, the bingo cards are laid out so that each column displays numbers within a specific range. The first column contains numbers between 1 and 20, the second between numbers 21 and 40, and so on. The winner is the first player to mark off the required pattern as depicted on the bingo card.

The patterns will vary depending on the variation of the game that is being played. However, the most commonly used patterns are the vertical line, horizontal line, the 4 corners as well as each single number.

90 Ball Bingo

The 90 Ball Bingo game is available widely all over the globe. Plenty of online bingo sites, in fact, have a few variations of this game, whilst others offer an entire selection that is quite vast.  It is still a fairly simple game of bingo to play. However, it is not quite as simple as the others since it entails in total three rounds.

The bingo card games each contain a total of 15 numbers with 5 numbers displayed in each of the three rows on the card, spread across nine columns in a random fashion. The first round is won by the first player to mark off a horizontal line; the second line is won by the first player to complete two horizontal lines and the larger prize is won by the player who successfully marks who marks off all the numbers on the cards first.

Different rules apply to a variety of bingo games, but essentially and for the most part, the games are played in a similar fashion.
