The theme is the same classic Irish, but what’s unexpected in this release is that it doesn’t have any reels, rows or paylines, only a huge 8×6 grid with 9 symbols appearing on it. We wouldn’t call the Rainbow Riches Cash Cluster a bonus-packed slot, but the new symbol-match coordinates mechanic makes it an intriguing new edition to the genre. For the most part, you’re playing for cash prizes, but there’s also a chance to win entry into the well-known bonus rounds. Here’s how it works.
Coordinate Mechanic
There are no reels, rows or paylines in the Rainbow Riches Cash Cluster slot. Instead, you spin for coordinates that will match up with the 6×8 grid. The symbols in the highlighted position, plus any adjacent matching symbols, will then be collected in the prize chart or prize totalisers. Once the winning symbols are added to the cash meter, the grid will act like cascading reels, except that cascades won’t award any wins.
Wilds
Look out for the sparkly Super Gem symbol. If it appears connected to a winning symbol, it will act as a wild and will be added to the prize chart. Even better if you can hit it on the grid alone, then it will collect up to 8 surrounding symbols and distribute them to their respective totalisers.
Symbol Totalisers
The game contains 9 symbols that you must collect in the cash meter to win instant prizes or trigger the two classic Rainbow Riches bonus rounds. First up are the familiar pots of gold and leprechaun symbols – 3 of each can unlock the Pots of Gold and Road to Riches mini-features. Next up is the lucky four-leaf clover, awarding 10x your stake for a cluster of 11. A cluster of 10 horseshoe symbols awards a 5x multiplier and a bunch of 9 harps awards an instant cash prize of 2x your stake. A total of 8 magic toadstools is required to win a 1x multiplier and 7 wishing wells are needed to bag a 0.5x your stake win. There are also 2x, 5x and 10x multiplier symbols and the Super Gem wild symbol that awards surrounding symbols.
Free Spins
