Medallion Megaways Bonus Features

Medallion Megaways is not unusual when it comes to its bonus features, but it’s the way they’re triggered that’s quite surprising here. There are no scatters, so you’re at the mercy of the special medallion symbol appearing early on to trigger either the expanding wild feature, respins or the free spins bonus round. Let’s inspect all slot features more closely.

Avalanche Feature

Accompanying the Megaways mechanics, the Avalanche reels can give you multiple winning opportunities on the same spin. Each time you form a winning combination, the winning symbols will be cleared from the grid, allowing new symbols to fall into gaps. If the new symbols result in a winning combination, you’ll have your wins multiplied by the Avalanche multiplier, which starts at 1x and increases by 1 with each successful avalanche.

Feature Stones

At the base of the reels, you’ll see three Feature Stones that correspond to wilds, free spins and respins features. The only way to activate these bonus features is with a medallion that can emerge randomly after any base spin. Appearing as a spinning coin, it activates or deactivates one of the below bonus features if it lands on its golden or silver side respectively.

Expanding Wilds

When the wild feature is activated, the wilds will land on reels 2-5, expand to cover an entire reel and substitute for all other symbols. More so, each wild awards a random multiplier between 2x to 6x whenever they appear as part of a winning combination.

Void Respins

When the medallion lands on its golden side and activates the respin feature, it will wipe out 2-10 random symbols of the grid that do not form any wins, creating an Avalanche effect. Wild symbols are an exception and won’t be removed during this feature.

Free Spins

The free spins bonus round awards 10 free spins and has both expanding wild and respin features active. Plus, the Avalanche multiplier does not reset for the duration of the round. Unfortunately, free spins can’t be retriggered.
