Rising Royals Bonus features

The Rising Royals features are indeed where the game is lacking. You won’t find wilds, multipliers or scatters amongst the Rising Royals bonus features, and at JohnSlots we felt this is what could have improved the game greatly. However, the collective respins, symbol lock and symbol upgrades features do keep things interesting.

Wilds

As mentioned, you won’t find wilds in this slot, so you’ll need to look out for at least three matching symbols to complete your paylines.

Scatter symbol

There is also a lack of scatter symbol in Rising Royals, though as there is no free spins round to trigger, scatters are not really necessary.

Respins

Though you won’t find a free spins round in Rising Royals, the fun really kicks in with the respins round. This works in tandem with the symbol lock and symbol upgrade features. Basically, whenever you land a winning combination of high paying symbols, these will lock into place as the reels respin.

If you land a combination of the same symbols or another high paying symbol, you’ll keep respinning. This will continue until no more high paying combinations land, or until you’ve filled the reels with symbols.

Each time the symbols lock for a respin, a chandelier meter on the side will light up by one. When all three sections of this meter light up, you’ll see all locked symbols upgraded to the next highest paying symbol. This has the potential to really take things up a notch, so it’s worth waiting for.

As much as Rising Royals free spins would have been a fun addition, (because who doesn’t love free spins with no deposit?), we think the respins are enough to make up for it all.

With the lack of features, a Rising Royals progressive jackpot – or even an internal Rising Royals jackpot – would have been a great way to spice things up.
