It’s the time of year for spooky slots to start making appearances for Halloween – and Vampire Desire from Barcrest in collaboration with SG Digital is doing that in style. It’s got more of a sultry, seductive vampire vibe than a scary vibe, but the variety of features are sure to keep you entertained.

Though we enjoyed this slot, especially for its ability to change the grid with the Mighty Reels, we did find the features to not hit that often. Of course, if you’re lucky enough to see bonus round kick in frequently, you’re in for a fun ride. We’ll go through each of the features below to give you an idea of what to expect.

Vampire Desire bonus features

As mentioned earlier, while the bonus features are enticing in this slot, we found they didn’t strike particularly often. We did, however, love the Mighty Reels feature, where paylines will instantly be expanded to 100 lines, including an entire reel of wild symbols to help you win.

Mighty Reels

The 100 paylines we mentioned earlier comes from the Mighty Reels feature, which is triggered when a wild randomly expands to cover the reel. You’ll see the grid expand to allow for extra symbols, giving you extra chances to win with the same stake.

The free spins round in Vampire Desire works a little differently to a traditional slot. It’s triggered by lining up three red heart symbols on the same row, which will award you three respins as the heart symbols turn gold and hold in place.

If you find additional red or blue hearts that line up, these will combine scores and continue to award more spins until you find no further heart symbols.

Bonus

The Vamp it Up bonus round can only be activated if you’re playing £2 or higher bets, which is important to note.

The 96% return to player of Vampire Desire is on the average side, but still not too low. We found the game to have a medium level of variance, with more lower wins coming in than higher ones. The bonus rounds were also on the higher volatility side, since they were harder to activate than most medium volatility slots.
