NetEnt has consistently wowed movie fans with its adaptations of famous films and Aliens is one such offering. This sci-fi, chest-busting thriller of a slot was launched in 2014 and has been regaling players with its intense atmosphere, spooky design and extraterrestrial feature offerings.
Produced by NetEnt in collaboration with 20th Century Fox, Aliens lets player revisit the 1986 cult classic of the same name. Sigourney Weaver reprises her role as Ellen Ripley in this sequel film, which brought more thrills, more danger and a whole lot more aliens than the first in the series, the 1979 movie Alien, which was also directed by James Cameron and featured creature designs by H. R. Giger. A third instalment, also starring Weaver, followed in 1992 with Aliens 3.
Unfortunately, the slot did come off the shelves in 2015, but it certainly left a lasting impression on us.

Aliens bonus features
The problem: too many aliens about. The answer? High-calibre artillery. Aliens take the standard casino game and add another level of player interaction by combining game features with an intriguing level structure.
This game is structured in three levels, with each level having a different aim in our pursuit to eliminate the alien threat. Be warned – these creatures aren’t giving up without a fight!.
Level 1: The Search
You can only shoot at something if you can see it and that’s the goal in this level – find out where the aliens are hiding. This is the basis for the main game and the player’s job is to fill the Alien Activity Meter. This lets you know you’re getting close to their hideout.
All symbols in a winning bet line, except wilds, will boost your Alien Activity Meter and increase the multiplier by x1. You will need all the help you can get as when the Meter is full, with 9 symbols, you will get the order to proceed to the next level.
Level 2: The Encounter
Locked and loaded? Good. You’ve found the problem, now it’s time to deal with it. With every spin, a symbol overlay will cover reels 1, 2 and 3. Each overlay has its own multiplier, as determined by the Alien Activity Meter, and therefore guaranteeing at least one winning combo.
After every spin, the player will be randomly allocated Ammo Clips – you can keep track of how many you have through the Counter on the right-hand side of the screen.
For every ammo clip in reserve, a re-spin is granted. If you run out of clips, the Alien gets the upper hand, made you into space dust and you are returned to the main game and level 1. Collect 10 clips and you’re on your way to the next level.
Level 3: The Hive
There’s good news and there’s bad news. The good news is you have unearthed the Queen and her hive. That’s also the bad news. These guys are not happy to see you. The goal here is to kill the Queen Alien and her egg-bound offspring, defending the Earth from what looks to be a nasty bit of intergalactic occupation. The bit where they cling to your face doesn’t seem very pleasant either.
As soon as level 3 is triggered, the player receives 5 re-spins, 4 Ammo Clips and a grenade. Launch your attack and watch as the Hive Health Meter starts to drop. Every time the Meter falls, a coin win is awarded to the player. Clear the meter entirely and you will receive a bonus of 240 times your initial bet. Not bad when you’ve also saved the world from an alien invasion!
The Wilds in Aliens behave much like you would expect, substituting for other symbols and boosting your chance at hitting a winning bet line. Those winning bet lines are important not just for the coin wins but also to help players move along the different levels of this game. In Level 1, they directly contribute to your Alien Activity Meter.
Aliens Free Spins
Not free spins as much as re-spins. Aliens, particularly in Level 2, relies heavily on the re-spins feature as part of its level functionality. Re-spins help you accumulate those all-important Ammo Clips, which will come in handy when it’s time to send those aliens back to the edges of space.
There’s no progressive jackpot on Aliens, which might disappoint players who prefer that sort of game. The maximum win is 10,000 coins and with that interesting game structure and all those multipliers, we certainly like our odds on this title.
RTP and volatility
Aliens is a low volatility slot, so players would see smaller wins come in more frequently. The return to player of 96.5% is on the average side, but those who made it to the third level had the chance to be rewarded greatly.
Aliens on Mobile
You can play Aliens on almost any mobile device thanks to the NetEnt Touch functionality of this title. Fire up your iPhone, iPad or Android smartphone or tablet and you’ll be eliminating this extraterrestrial threat in no time.
