Break Away Deluxe bonus features

Ice hockey fans, unlike horse racing and football fans, don’t really have many options when it comes to slot games based on their favourite sport. The first Break Away title was a great one and players are in for a similar level of quality with Break Away Deluxe.

The 5×5 reel set has the pale blue of an ice rink as its background. We see hockey equipment such as skates, helmets, and Zambonis as symbol, alongside a handful of players and the referee. The player in the red jersey is the most lucrative.

This slot uses the Rolling Reels mechanic that we have seen in several other Microgaming slots. When a win is formed, the contributing symbols disappear from the reels and new ones take their place. This allows for additional chances to form a winning combination.

Wilds

The game’s logo acts as the Wild symbol, which can only appear on reels 3 to 5 in the base game and 2 to 5 during free spins. It substitutes for all of the standard symbols (excluding the Scatter) and it appears Super Stacked. Each stack grows by one symbol on every consecutive spin.

There is also a randomly activated Smashing Wild feature, where the hockey players will appear and turn any of reels 2, 3 or 4 completely Wild, guaranteeing a winning combo. This Wild reel will remain in place for any following spins.

The flaming ice puck is the Scatter and landing 3, 4 or 5 of these will award 12 free spins. At this point, the Multiplier Trail feature kicks into gear, boosting the size of the multiplier applied to any wins.
