Frozen Gems Bonus Features

If you’ve never tried the symbol split mechanics before, it might take some time to get to grips with this dynamic feature here. The idea is that the game initially starts with 243 ways to win, but the addition of splitting scatters can bump it up to 8,748. As well as increasing ways to win, you’ll start playing the multiline game with increasing multipliers that increase 1x with each winning cascade and don’t reset on void spins, which is fantastic.

Wilds

Included in the game are standard wilds and bonus wilds, both appearing as W logos covered in polished gold. The regular wilds, appearing on the 3×5 grid, substitute for all paying symbols, but bonus wilds have special properties and only appear on the topmost bonus reel.

Scatters

The key to triggering the free spins round in Frozen Gems is to collect scatters. These will appear as glistening blue gemstones encrusted in golden flower petals. When at least 3 of them hit the reels, they will open up and fly off to fill the free spins counter. There are also splitting scatters but we’ll talk about these below.

Bonus Symbols

The static bonus reel covering the top of the regular grid holds 5 bonus symbols frozen in two unique combinations of 2 splitting scatters and 3 other bonus symbols. The 3 other bonus symbols can be either 2x bonus wilds and one 3x splitting scatter or vice versa, one wild and two 3x splitting scatters.

The only way to unfreeze them and to release the above combinations is to land 3 winning symbols or scatters on the corresponding reels. The splitting scatters at the same time will shatter all visible symbols on the reel, except scatters, into 2s and 3s – simultaneously increasing your ways to win potential up to very cool 8,748.
