Hugo’s Adventure bonus features

The colourful cartoon graphics introduced in Hugo, Hugo 2 and Hugo Goal are used again in Hugo’s Adventure. We can see the A, K, Q, J and 10 card suits as the low-value symbols, while bird pilots, monkey mechanics and troll aircrew make up the higher value end of the paytable.

Wilds

Decked out in his aviator kit of leather jacket and goggles, Hugo acts as the Wild. This substitutes for any other symbol except the Wild and also pays out a generous 50 times the stake for a full 5-symbol payline.

Underwater Adventure bonus game

This is the nautical part of Hugo’s Adventure, triggered by landing 2 submarine Scatters on the same spin. These symbols can only land on reels 2 and 4. The player is awarded between 1 and 3 lives as the submarine spins. These are used in the next part of the game.

Treasure chests appear and the player chooses one after the other. Some chests are dangerous and take away one life. Others award cash prizes. The player keeps going until they either run out of lives or out of chests.

If the player has remaining lives, the golden submarine will spin again, once for each life, and award a multiplier of either x2, x3 or x5. If the player had 2 or 3 lives by the time the feature ended, the multipliers awarded on each golden submarine spin will be combined before the payout is calculated.

Hugo’s Adventure Free Spins

The airborne part of this slot game is called the Air Ace feature and it is triggered by the airplane Scatter. These symbols can appear on reels 1, 3 and 5 and when three land on the same spin, the feature is activated with 9 free spins and 1 life.

The 1+ balloons award the player an extra life while the air mines remove a life. Additional free spins can be activated, up to a limit of 20. Flying Wilds can appear too, shifting one reel to the left on each spin until they disappear off the far-left side of the game screen.

At the end of every free spin, the player can land up to 4 additional balloons, these awarding 2 extra lives each. If two or more balloons appear, the multiplier increases up to a limit of x16. If the player ends the features with one or more lives still intact, the Underwater Adventure feature is launched.
